Exploring Your Home’s Most Active Canvas

When decorating, I’ve found that a room’s four vertical walls get the lion’s share of attention. “Paint or wallpaper? Crown molding, perhaps? We need art!” But there’s a fifth wall in every room. It’s a wall that tends to get neglected or forgotten. In fact, people walk all over it. It’s your floor.

The truth is, your fifth wall has a huge impact on a room’s personality. The type of floor you choose, its design and its colorway finish a space. Selecting and maintaining the right flooring becomes crucial to interior design.

Here’s the good news, the not-so-good news and, since I like to end on a positive, the best news.

Good: You’ve got almost innumerable options. The flooring industry has listened to customer needs and requests, and has developed vast lines deep with choices. It may sound cliché to say “there’s something for everyone,” but in today’s flooring market, there truly is.

Not-so-good: The selection process can be daunting. With all these great options to choose from, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Most people only install flooring in their homes 2 or 3 times—ever. Don’t get intimidated and for goodness’ sake, don’t throw your hands up! The best news awaits…

Best: I’m here to help. I’ve spent the last 17 years in the trenches of the flooring industry. I’ve done it all—from sales to overseeing installations to customer satisfaction check-ins. I’ve seen trends come and go. I’ve figured out what works and what doesn’t. I’m ready to share what I’ve learned with you.

So, are you ready to make your home more beautiful? Let’s give your fifth wall some well-deserved attention.
